BACH — Keyboard Concerto No. 3 in D Major, BWV 1054 SCHNITTKE — Sonata No. 1 for Violin, Strings and Harpsichord SCHNITTKE (arr. Bashmet) — Trio-Sonata for Chamber Orchestra BACH — Keyboard Concerto No. 7 in G Minor, BWV 1058 In this, the third in the Chamber Orchestra’s Baroque Perspectives series this season, Vladimir Feltsman conducts and performs on piano works by Bach and Schnittke in the Kimmel Center’s Perelman Theater. Mr. Feltsman has an extensive repertoire which ranges from the music of Bach to 20th-century composers. His immersion in the music of Bach led him to record six Bach discs for the MusicMasters label, the most recent of which is The Art of Fugue. His electrifying performance of the Bach and masterful command of the Schnittke brought the audience to its feet. This concert will be broadcast in the spring on WRTI. |
