presents

Mendelssohn Violin Concerto

featuring

Leila Josefowicz

Concert Date: Sunday, June 5th

And Monday, June 6th

Perelman Theater, Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts

The ‘04-’05 season wraps up for Philadelphia’s classical community,

and Weston Sound is there to capture all of it!

Special guest violinist Leila Josefowicz performs the Mendelssohn under the direction of Maestro Solzhenitsyn in the Perelman Theater.

The Chamber Orchestra ended their season with a bang last weekend, with special guest Leila Josefowicz performing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64.

Beyond that, the Orchestra performed Stravinsky’s Eight Instrumental Miniatures and Schubert’s Symphony No. 3 in D Major, D. 200.  The concert’s second half also included a World Premiere of a piece commissioned specifically by Maestro Ignat Solzhenitsyn and the Chamber Orchestra: Variations on a Theme of Hugo Wolf, by Michael Hersch.

If you were there, you know it was a great performance.  And if you missed it, be sure to catch it when it comes on WRTI!
