The Chamber Orchestra ended their season with a bang last weekend, with special guest Leila Josefowicz performing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64. Beyond that, the Orchestra performed Stravinsky’s Eight Instrumental Miniatures and Schubert’s Symphony No. 3 in D Major, D. 200. The concert’s second half also included a World Premiere of a piece commissioned specifically by Maestro Ignat Solzhenitsyn and the Chamber Orchestra: Variations on a Theme of Hugo Wolf, by Michael Hersch. If you were there, you know it was a great performance. And if you missed it, be sure to catch it when it comes on WRTI! |
