Mellon Jazz presents Congo Square Donald Harrison featuring Congo Nation Perelman Theater Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts Saturday, October 14th, 2006 The Congo Nation Mardi Gras Indians were founded in 2001 with the mission to maintain the strong ties to African culture in New Orleans, dating back to the 19th Century when African Americans started masking as Native Americans. Donald Harrison and the Congo Nation Mardi Gras Indians made their Kimmel Center debut Saturday night. |

Cherry Rhodes, organ Verizon Hall Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts Saturday, October 14th, 2006 World renown organist Cherry Rhodes inaugurated the Organ Series of the Master Musicians programs at the Kimmel Center by performing works of composers Bach, Liszt, Mader, Lidon, Mozart, and Guillou. This concert will be broadcast on Sunday, October 29th, 2006 on WRTI 90.1FM in Philadelphia as well as worldwide on wrti.org. |
